[#5765349]

got a few free hours on Sat and a few mates may be heading to Aston hill. Don't think they've been over there before and are Chicksands regulars. But it's close ish to to me so I may head over.

How is it on a 29er with 100mm ? Do I really need something a bit more travel ideally ?

I've never ridden there, but as it's a mountain bike with suspension, I'm sure you'll be fine.

If you are happy with the seat slammed and hanging off the back youll be fine, the red/xc descent is certainly fine and the farthest run DH3/Ricochet too.
The black Run, S2A and root canal might be a bit intimidating! definitely walk them 1st

if it stays dry should be running nice and fast

Yeah i'm happy with that, I don't usually drop the seat, but I can for this I guess.

I've just gone nuts and bought a full face. !!!!

not dropping the seat at aston will almost certainly give you the opportunity to test your new fullface ๐Ÿ˜‰

AH is very different to Chicksands IME.

AH is a DH venue with some gentler options available, Chicksands is 4X with some jumps/drops/pumptrack available

you wont get far down S2A with your saddle up yer ass.
