Singlespeed or gears?
Take gears and use only one, if it's cr4p, use more.
I'm not sure that you're truly embracing the n+1 mentality to which STW adhears...
Oh I do more than most, I just think AC is a bit meh, that's all, I've raced it on SS 26", ridden it on 29 geared hard tail and rigid SS, all depend how quick you want to get it over with.
AC is good fun on a SS as there isn't really any climbing to speak of. That said there is also hardly any mud around (on the marked trails) and gearz iz fasterer and fun in it's own way 😀
It's fine on a singlespeed, it's faster with gears. I'd say it's more fun the faster you go.
I use SS, fixed or SS with a coaster rear for variety, no hills to speak of....
Tried both, I prefer geared even tho it's not that hilly.
