Bum butter is very good. I use it on any long rides and take a small tub on multi day bikepacking.

I’ve tried thre or four diffent makes and so far assoss is still my preferred option. It’s not as good as the old version but still better than anything else I’ve tried.

I use below the belt sports protection groin protection stuff and seems to be a real decent brand to use.
Keeps everything fresh too.

suedocrem is very good on chaffed skin. IMO do not put anything on for "protectiuon" i you are not chaffed - it alters the skin PH and clogs pores leading to more sweating and skin damage

Udder cream.
It's very good, cheaper than bike specific stuff and also keeps my teats nice and soft.

Another bum butter fan here, especially as the bum/knob/asshole jokes were flowing ludicrously fast at Charlies stand at the cycle show. I was totally unaware there were that many bum related puns...

when its really bad I've used morhulin.
Have used the utterly smooth stuff, but got some bum butter and it's good. Seem to work well with the Mac-off stuff as well. If I don't use stuff, it's not very pleasant...

Disappointing.

I thought this thread was going to be about a South African asking for a frozen dessert.

Often end up with a chaffed arse at work... long hours walking around, bending over and carrying stuff in a hot environment mean that I get arse sweats.

Zinc cream helps heal the skin.

Udder cream, but not the peppermint scented stuff whilst riding in bear country. Cheap stuff straight from the vets.

Udderly smooth chamois cream.
For multi day trips, I decant some into one of those small squirty travel bottles that you can get at various pharmacies.

Do not, however, consider, removing hair from your undercarriage,
to improve things as this review illustrates

I'm having great results with Bodyglide Cycle, it's a bit like a giant Chapstick for your bum which is odd at first but it works very well for me.

Eurostyle Buttr is good, as is Assos, but Muc Off is my current bum grease of choice.

Used udderly smooth and eurostyle buttr but the stuff Charlie pushes is probably the best I've used.

Me & some workmates did a bothy trip a couple of years ago, to Camban bothy. Carrying reasonably heavy backpacks (beer mainly, & yes I know..The Bothy Code blahdy blah)
When we got back to Ratagan Hostel my arse was like a blood orange (I actually thought it must be bleeding)
Straight in the shower & coating of Germolene with local anaesthetic & I was ready for another lap.

Have since used it as a preventative measure with excellent results!

How many find they actually need it?

I don't wear padded shorts for bikepacking so also don't bother with any chamois cream. Maybe I just haven't ridden for long enough. Or my arse is just massively insensitive...

Bodyglide.

Applied directly onto chamois.

Everything else caused more problems than they claimed to solve.
Bephanthen after if it's been a long ride.
