I've seen this on here a few times but now I'm interested I can't find the threads. I can find where to buy them easy enough by Google, but what else do I need to know? How do they size up, do you need to finish the bottoms, etc? What are the waists like - do they have belt loops for my small waist to arse ratio?

If you mean cutting off the bottoms of the goretex over trousers - then detailing wise they are very basic - think of a pair of cheap jogging bottoms, not buttons or fly or pockets, an elasticated waist with a bit of stretchy boot lace to tie in a knot for adjustment. No belt loops.

People might tell you to go for a size larger as they are over trousers but mine are my usual waist size (because theres no belt loops) and they work fine either over other clothes or on their own over a base layer.

I've kept mine as full length trousers, so can't comment of cutting them down and refinishing them.

I just hacked the legs off below the knee. They havent frayed or anything. And they are just an elasticated waist. The back is quite low also.

I cut mine off just below the knee and, because I am a tart, used some [url=

glue[/url] to turn up the ends.
