Thanks Pants, great event.
I managed 6 laps in 5hr 49min.
Punctured on thr first lap, looked like a stone cut the middle of the tyre, I pumped it with the hole at the bottom and it seemed to sealwith the latex. About 250 meters down the road it went down again so I took off the tyre and fitted a tube. This meant being massively last and riding around lost for a while, till the 4hr boys came flying past .
Good fun course , but I am simply not strong enough to be able to ride the hills, so a fair bit of pushing was required.
Alot of really fast riders today too, mostly very good overtaking etiquette.
I'm sure Peter must have a photo of me. I was coming through the singletrack at the end of the lap and was concentrating really hard on looking through the corners, using my shoulders to aim out of the turn, picking my line way ahead when suddenly 'Oh look, someone's left a rucksack in the bush there'
Said rucksack then blinds me with a flash and through the white light is the unmistakable face of Poddy and his camera.
Yeah Pete's remote flash caught me out on the first lap!
Why no drop off Pants!? That was gonna be fun, watching everyone bin it at the bottom 🙂

Enough people were having problems with the "drop-off"/bombhole that [i]was[/i] in the course!! The number stopped at the top of that on the first lap...
I was right behind a girl on the drop off and she definately didn't want to do it judging by the shriek! Wasn't expecting the bomb hole on the first lap, I was lookin at the chicken run wondering why it was there

AFAIK I was the only one out on the course taking pics. I was acutally the official snapper on the day.... 😯

I don't suppose anyone took a .GPX of the course that I can blag did they? I'm not a racer by any stretch of the imagination so I wasn't there but these courses make great rides for an evening spin out.
I did, not uploaded it to Connect yet, will do so later.

There were a couple of small changes on the day, there was a small drop off that got taken out which you'll find if you follow that course excatly, otherwise you'll see the other line from the tyre tracks!

I did the 6 hour last year I'll have you know! I forgot to eat or drink anything, so it ended horribly! I just get bored, XC racing is the way forward.
