Looking at getting some 36s and would quite like the travel adjust for trail use on techy bits and uphill, I've had a bounce on some vans and they were lovely and my 32 floats feel very nice byt haven't had any experience on talas forks. Chaaaars.
Yes a little, whether you notice it or not is down to you.
Have had talas 1 and 2 in 36s and also some vans. Vanilla definitely felt better.
The Talas are still really good forks.
agree with loco, a tad less smooth over small bumps but nothing really worth worrying about. one of those thing's you'll notice more on a shop-floor sqidge test than on the trail. 2009 onwards talas are smoother than the original design.
I haven't ridden any Talas 3s yet so don't know how they are, but they're supposed to better again.
^ what they say. I have van 32s and '10 TALAS 32. the TALAS is a little more hesitant on small stuff, but the judgement is relative, by that I mean it's judging against possibly the best small bump action fork on the market and certainly the best one I've ridden, the Fox Van
if you want travel adjust and can afford the price / can find a deal, I would go for the TALAS
Just fitted some '09 Talas 36s in place of '09 Revs and I can notice a little bit of small bump weakness, but in every other way they are brilliant imho.
Thank you for your responses I'll keep an eye out!
