[#7847344]

reading that other thread about LS jerseys and the like. I regularly use my arm warmers when road riding, with them going in back pocket if/when it warms up.

On the MTB I generally either start with a LS jersey, or a SS one, and stay that way. Thinking about it, a SS base layer, arm warmers and SS jersey is as warm anyway....

Noooooo 😕 Always use mine on xc rides. Short sleeve jersey + arm warmers, then remove arm warmers if you get too hot.

This.

Last night I accidentally went for a 35 mile road ride (on my hardtail) in my "garage slippers" (old skate shoes) because I forgot to change them. I didn't die. They're not even meant for any kind of cycling.

If arm warmers ARE just for road then I wish someone had told me before I embarrassed myself by wearing them for an XC ride last night.

I wore some yesterday, too warm for a LS or thermal all the way round but lots of time in the shade and cold

Arm warmers on the MTB? Do you mean under the base-layer, body-armour, and baggies?

I wear arm warmers when running, hiking, touring, road-riding....

but almost never on the MTB. I normally choose a SS, 3/4 or LS jersey etc and roll sleeves up if I have to!

I wore arm warmers in an enduro last year. Needless to say, I didn't do well.

OK for XC racing, but only if you're quicker up the hills than down them.

I wore arm warmers in an enduro last year. Needless to say, I didn't do well.

You got off lightly, normally if you turn up with arm or leg warmers on the enduro police knock you off the bike on a quiet bit of fresh cut and bury you under a new tabletop.

My daughter's taken to wearing my arm warmers as leg warmers (she's 10)

For cycling and basketball ('cos that's what steph curry wears)

I wore mine pushed down at the last PMBA enduro. Not even tucked into my back pocket! pushed down like giant baggy wrist bands! The shame! I managed to avoid the time penalty though. Luckily I must have slipped past the enduro police whilst they were drinking their craft brew, artisan hops coffee (or whatever you're meant to spill in your beard at these things).

I resisted buying arm warmers for years. I have a few pairs now and are probably one of thes best and most use items of clothing.

Road, fat bike, Xc, if I'm on a bike I usually have them on or with me.

Just bought a pair of white Gore ones to match my new Stolen Goat top. I've had various ordinary black ones and as above they're for cycling in. Did a full End2End 45 miles with them as wrist pop-socks once as I couldn't be bothered to take them off.

Knee warmers are good too (i'm 49 though...)

just as you cannot ride road with an enduro(tm) beard.

arm and leg warmers , the most versatile of all the garments.

I use a long sleeve, then pull the sleeves up if I get warm. Not an mtb fashion guru by any standards but tights, arm warmers and shoe cover thingys are too far for me!

Arm and knee warmers are great. Properly versatile bits of kit. A bit like a workstand. You go for years without them, and when you finally get a set, you wonder how you managed without.

Nice and hot after work off in shorts and short top with knee and arm warmers for when you are still out when the sun has gone down and its cold

Same applies for high mountain rides

Would not want to be without mine

is there a magic foot for arm warmers though?

I find that, for MTB rides, after a bit the uppers (over the triceps/biceps) work loose and end up with wrinkled arm warmers around my elbows. not a good look. Any that are tight enough to grip on the upper arms are often blood constricting. I have funny profiled arms and legs though.. often bib shorts and liners that would ideal for my waist size fail to fit beyond the lower thigh..

Seems unusual. Normally the grippers are pretty good at keeping them where you put them. I've got Grip-Grab ones and they size up well and stay put.

Wear them whenever you wish, they are a seriously versatile bit of kit that I use a huge amount. I've worn mine for football eve, albeit, I did get some stick for that.

For MTB use I've got some of them old 661 elbow/forearm pads if it's cool.

Can't say I've ever worn arm warmers on my mtb, no reason you shouldn't mind, I'm a huge fan of them.
