Could i put a cage off a different level mech onto an X9 rear mech?

What is the point in spending £50+ quid on a mech just for the cage when (if it would work) spend £25 on an X5 and have a spare body if need be?

YES all x9 , x7 and x0 have done it - have all three
They do not fully match up if you use different back plate to front plate
What you thinking of doing?
