I've been having on going issues with the rear axle of my Longitude and as of this morning the axle bolt itself is somewhat buggered. The hub is a Joytech RCC 6-Bolt 135x9mm QR and the main axle bolt needs replacing. However I'm struggling to find info on whether a Weldtite one on Evans will be suitable. If anyone can shed any light on this I'd be very grateful.

Should be fine. The thread pitch and size will be identical. You used to be able to get titanium ones to save a bit of weight...
Forgot to say the cones may be a bit soft, so if you can get Shimano ones that fit I'd use those instead.

I've used generic axles in bikes before and they always had issues, either the bearings wore rapidly, or axles bent.
I presume shimano must use a better grade of steel in their axles, likewise the cones.
If you can figure out the equivalent shimano parts it may be worth making a note of the part numbers and seeing if an LBS can order them from Madison to upgrade the hub.
I used to run solid axles with nuts on XT hubs a years back. The same company used to make proper chromoly QR axles as well but I can't remember who does them-however you certainly won't find them at Evans. You need decent 4130 rolled thread.

Sometimes it's cheaper to buy a full Shimano hub to use for spares.
