Just booked up for 4 days camping in Ardgarten on Loch Long in a few weeks and planning taking my bike. Ive been told there are some good tracks close buy can anyone confirm ?. I will probably get at least a day to myself as the wife and kids head into Glasgow for a look.

There is stuff around arrochar. Some waymarked and some "natural"

Yeah, if you head for the carpark at the foot of the Cobbler, follow the hairpins to the first fireroad crossing, then head left, there's some interesting forestry style singletrack to the road, which then becomes the route around the Ardgartan Peninsula.

The Ardgartan Peninsula route is [u]very[/u] easy fireroad to begin with but gets better when you round the tip of the peninsula, and the diversion up to the lochgoilhead waterfalls is pretty good too.

The track from the Arrochar train station is worthwhile and links up with the Coire Grogain route from Succoth, which is fireroad up and singletrack down.

I seem to remeber there being a trail up and down to the transmitter mast but can't find anything via google
