Thanks Darrenspink!
Not riding but have volunteered to marshal so will be there both days
so say hello as you whizz past
If you wear a hat with a trout on it I'll know who you are and will 😀
cover yourself in trout lights trout, so I know it's you and can thank your for the old light threads!
Looks like its going to be a wash out, bit of wind I don't mind but thunder & torrential rain isn't fun when your camping.
Next year I think they should move it back a weekend or two.
Anybody camping close tonight. I'm currently on the A684 just past Jawed looking for somewhere to pitch the tent...
Saturday camping for me and mate due to the weather. Did you find somewhere tymbian?
I managed to get me and my son in the bunkhouse on Saturday night ......... Looking forward to it!!
Saturday camping for the family and I.
I'll pack our canoe 😆
Look out for me - white fivespot with blue grips/pedals and a splash of yellow
Camping on Saturday - riding on Sunday - drying out on Monday
That there weather forecast looks just marvellous for Saturday.... 😕
I'll be there, black Ghost HT, white forks, oldest green berghaus jacket known to mankind.
High winds and rain. brings back memorries of being on top of Fremmington edge in shorts and teeshirt with driving hailstones painful
I wil be hiding under a big yellow brolly somewhere round the course
@ Darrens. I got in at a place called Hawes, not to far away for the trip to Fremington today...
I rode up there early in the week and it was too dry, the forecast for sunday looks ok.
Lest get some positive vibes on this thread.
I need the sun to come out and dry the tent...had a bit of rain last night. Hope that's the last of it. I've been lucky this last week and had no rain, I've managed to ride, Cwmcarn, BPW, Cwm Rhaeader, Nant y Arian during the week & Llandegla yesterday.
Hope that's the last of it
Forecast is not looking good!
No such thing as the wrong weather.......
For various reasons i'm going to be driving up early Sunday and riding the course blind- Not that it'll make a huge difference in my impact on the leaderboard!
It's pretty rocky isn't it? Weather looks good for Sunday, so the rain should sort conditions out well. Too much dust ATM anyway... 😉
Looking forward to views like that.....not the caution signs though!
Looks great.
not the caution signs though!
I should have one of those on my back 🙂
No such thing as the wrong weather.......
There is when this is the only weekend of the entire summer when you get a chance to get away from the family and ride bikes properly. Oh well. 🙁
Damn Damn Damn... Now my cranky lower back has just started to make its ouchy ouch kind of feelings. That and crumby weather might make this a bit of a none starter...
What's the weather like up there this morning?
These Enduro boys don't like the nasty rain do they
It won't wash your fluro away you know 😆
Top ride this morning.. got back just before the heavens opened. Looking a bit windy for tomorrow..
Please, will someone tell me that it was absolute purgatory up there.
I was planning to be there, but a knackered back, which only gets totally wrecked if I ride like this, has meant I have had to sit this one out..... 🙁
What a great event. Stupidly got fairly drunk on Friday night in the pub and went to bed far too late. Then practiced the whole course on Saturday and got caught in the torrential downpour at the furthest point away from the campsite.
Got an early night last night and had a lot of fun racing the enduro today.
Nope Today was a cracker had way too much sunshine at my marshal post bottom of the last section .
not one sad face all day just huge grins .
Yesterday was a tad wet and saw a lot of very knackered riders out practising the course for today .
but the sportive riders all seemed very cheerful .
it was Ard and it was Rocky but I think a great event
Definitely 'Ard and Rocky! Probably the hardest Enduro I've raced.
Whats excluded time?
[quote=godzilla]Whats excluded time?
Time over the transition part of the course? I.e. excluded time + stage times = total time on course
Simon, friday night was possibly a little ill advised. Good though!
I've had a great weekend. First time at an Enduro and it was mint. Hard work but very good fun.
Definitely be back next year
That last section was brilliant today but awful yesterday
By comparison the first section was brilliant yesterday but awful today!
Yes Matt, fun night on Friday but I paid for it on Saturday!
Tom, new back tyre time!
great weekend. achieved my goals of not coming last on every stage out of our group, not crashing, not cramping and finishing in the top 50%.
That last section was brilliant today but awful yesterdayBy comparison the first section was brilliant yesterday but awful today!
yeah wish I'd pushed harder on the last section, was wary after yesterday but there was plenty grip after all. 1 and 5 were my favourites, 1 was extra fun today.
Absolutely shattered, not doing that on a hardtail again. Challenging but damn good fun and pleased I made myself do it.
Trout, good job you weren't up on section 4 he was very unhappy.
Excellent weekend, Big thanks to the riders for being cheery, cooperative and having a banter, made all the standing about at the top a lot of fun.
Have to say while stages 1 & 5 were very pleasant, looking over to 3&4, it did look a bit nasty.
Riding down 5 at the end of the day after you all cut a great in was a very special treat. Cracking bit of trail that.
bring on 2015!
What was the problem on section 4 Darrenspink I only got to see 5 and 1 the whole weekend .
They said bring your bikes and you will get a lot of riding in
Like yeah ride to your section and spend the day there
and then miss the free beer and food the marshals got if you go for an evening ride that is if you have any energy left as surprised how knackered marshaling is .
Very surprised at the lack of injuries over the 2 days the medics were very happy to have a quiet event and little work to do .
the guy at the bottom with me only had a cut finger to attend to
Trout..he was freeeeeezing. It was dark and extremely windy. Talked to him for 30s and he said he was hating it.
I reckon they must of made an amount of money out of that race (and won to boot) they should pay people who help out.
Edit...actually think it was section 3.
Just got back down south from a brilliant weekend. Now tucking in to a hard earned beer.
Chap on stage 4 didn't look happy. Even when I fell flat on my face in to the mud trying first to cycle up, then to run up a hill he didn't muster a smile. It probably was cold there though with wind being funnelled through.
Stage 5 was brilliant today, no wonder you saw all smiles there Trout. Proper fun.
I marshalled the top of stage 2 all day today it was horrible, but had some great banter with the riders, and seen some good riding. Glad i got to ride most of the course on friday while setting it out. Maybe next year i'll get to ride properly
My guys were manning stage 4 as well they probably didnt seem that happy as they only got in off the p#*s about 2 hours before the race began, none of the guys on 4 had any interest in mountan biking they volunteered to help out so that they could have a day of work on friday, i dont think they will volunteer for anything i ask them to again lol
Gotta say the marshals I spoke to were all great. It was an awesome event (again) I really liked the new s4.
Next year I'll make sure I bolt my chainring on properly though... :p
Top event again! Huge thanks to everyone who made it happen!
Bloody hell I did not realize how the weather was so different at each end of the course .
that explains why they arrived at me dressed for winter riding and I had spent the day keeping out of the sun as my head was frying
