[Closed] Applying heli-tape

I'm getting my frame powder coated as the paint is getting a little scuffed etc. I realised that I probably didn't protect it very well as most of the scratches etc are where I could have easily heli-taped.
So, how do you go about doing it properly? Was looking at invisiframe but they don't do a kit for my bike so gonna need to cut it all myself.
Is it better to get a sheet or will a roll (say 100mm wide) be suitable for most areas?
Was thinking that the best way would be to make paper templates to get the right fit then cut the tape based on the paper. Is this the way to go?
