Sorry
Sorry
Sorry!

Having had exceptional luck with a pair of UST High Rollers that i've not had to touch for 2 1/2 years, I've not paid too much attention to tyres for a while.

But, now I'm in Oz, I need a pair of slightly less chunky tyres for dustyness. I'd still like full-fat real UST, and was thinking about maybe an Ignator on the front and a Larsen on the back. Is there anything more suitable for predominantly dry and dusty, but with the odd clayey bit.

Having spent most of my riding in Wales, I've never really had much need for dry-weather tyres before, so I'm a bit at a loss as to what to go for.

Cheers!

See what the locals/lbs recommend?

I love Ignitors, they roll well & are more rounded than HR's, more of a Panaracer type profile.
I find them very grippy in anything but clag.

Crossmarks are great in the dry, very fast but I wouldn't put one on the front.

Kenda Small Block 8 might work well there.

The 2011 Nobby Nics maybe? Anyone had experience with them yet?

In Oz (Qld) I run an Ignitor on the front and a Small Block 8 on the rear in the dry.

Pretty effective on hard tracks with an occasional layer of loose stuff on top.

I love rubber queens, full on big volume UST tyre. Might not be the fastest, but they sure are fun.

If it's really loose and dusty, I'd use a fast mud spike of some description (or something like a rubber queen/conti vertical).

I'm not sure what mud tyres Maxxis produce for XC, but that's probs a good place to start
