Heading to Pila in the summer and would like some recommendations for camp sites. Is there uplift from Aosta and if so any family orientated campsites close to it?

Thanks

The cable car runs all the way from aosta to the pila so no problems with that. Pila is very quiet in the summer so probably not the best place for a family to be as you'd soon run out of things to do.
We've always done cheap hotels having not found many camping options near Aosta - there must be something though!

I've camped a couple of times just a mile or so outside Aosta, nice campsite with tree shade and good pizza/beer on tap. Unfortunately, I can't work out from the websites which one it was of Camping International or Camping Monte Bianco. Anyway, I'm sure both will be fine, one has tennis and swimming pool (I think it might have been that one, but I've stayed at so many in the Alps that one blurs into another).

It was Camping International Touring we stayed at for 2 weeks and for a few days on the 2nd occasion. Just a short drive to Aosta and was fully loaded with facilities, the tree cover was particularly welcome.

We stayed in a campsite up the Cogne Valley called La Pineta. Has a great restaurant attached; really cheap and locals come up from Aoste to use it. Half an hour from Pila. remember to do the freeride descent all the way down to Aoste from Pila; stunning!

+1 for Camping International. Nice site, Dutch owned I seem to remember, pool, pizza, beer. Supermarket 100m down the road, you can ride along a path by the river from the campsite down into Aosta to the lift. Can't say I was keen on the bike park but the freeride trail was excellent. If you get the chance drive up the road to La Thuile and ride that.
