The MBA newsletter was talking about a new one on the peninsula, but I'm a little suspicious about it, seems awfully easy to get to so I'm worried its likely to be busy/trashed.

Has anyone been or stayed in it? Would be a good base for the 70km or so of easy but good trails in the area.

Was camping at Argarten last week and did the Peninsula red trail , but didn't see any bothy. Stunning location but my time was limited and I couldn't find much singletrack , wished I had done the trails north of Arrochar instead.

Cheers Stan, the bothy isn't far off the landy track, but you wouldn't see it. It is on the map though...

Did you do the loop from Ardgartan to lochgoilhead and back round via the Rest and be Thankful? There's some good stuff on that, dotted amongst the forest road sections...

Aye thats the one stunning views but could have done with a local who knew the trails. Also walked from Arrochar north and the tracks there were pretty good but was hampered by bad weather and a some misbehaving gears.
