MM - whatever mistakes someone's made in the past there's no need to gloat when they've been missing for several days and their friends are concerned for their welfare. Hope you get the chance to say this to his face one day, preferably just after he's generously given you a great tour of the Qs.

MountainMutant - because he's our friend and he may be in trouble. That superceedes your indignation.
If you've nothing positive to say, there are other threads on here where you can go and argue. Go try those.

MM

If your still able to edit that comment of yours I would....

your post is the worst comment I have ever seen on this forum when you take this whole thread into context.

Whatever -- He needs to resurface, end of story. He can sort the rest out later.

MM "hurt someone in his actions" Try not to jump to conclusions.
"All fines for criminal offences will carry an additional "victims surcharge" of £15, the Home Office has announced.
The levy will be added on top of every fine handed out in court for a criminal offence from 1 April.
It will be paid into a fund aimed at helping improve services for victims of crime, and will be fixed at a flat rate regardless of the size of the fine."
Although drink drivers really annoy me I try not to judge and it does seem possible he is regretting his actions. Hope he turns up safe.

+1 Jambo.

Lets try not to get off topic.

Has there been any news?

Known Sharki for quite a while and he get's zero sympathy from me about drinkig and driving.

However, regarding the guy who is so gracious and courteous to others, selfless most of the time, was great with my kids and even once jet washed my wife , I just want him to turn up safe and well.

MM you have no idea of the circumstances - things aren't always as they might appear.
Come home Sharki (Never met but sentiment is the same)

As Diane says - MM you have no idea what is/has/maybe going on. What matters right now is finding Sharki and knowing he is ok.

I'm just taking consolation that 'no news is (so often) good news' and if something bad had happened we would've known about it by now.

If you listen to some of these comments, you'd think drink driving was OK if its someone you know 🙄

I guess everyone being so pious about him possibly having been convicted for DD has never driven the morning after a session. Go and start your own petulant thread on the issue if it irks you so much!

I assume if has gone to Spain that it would flag up?
I also assume that as he can't drive he can't work or get to his kids?
And was he deffo seen having a few on Saturday?
I'm staggered that you can fall off the radar like this.

Is there a chance that the attention this is drawing could drive him further underground?

Edit:
I like to think he is having a 'Oh **** how do I explain this moment' before he re appears.

I think it's more a case of just wanting Sharki to turn up safe rather than wanting to give him a hard time for his pecadillos.
I think most of us feel that way so can we just keep it on topic.

Please ?

what shane has done or not done is no one's business but his.

he has to turn up in a pub or equivalent soon, he'll need to charge his camera......unless he's using batteries!

I wonder if the mods should just remove all the comments RE drink driving? If hes feeling like society hates him and then sees the judgmental stuff on here that might be too much for him if he is in a dark place...

I would suggest the negative stuff ends and focus on the positive stuff, i have never met the fella but he has some, well lots of people pulling for him so if he reads this thread he should realise he has all the right people waiting to sort out his "issues" and get him sorted. He will miss his kids, his mam although she will probably clip his earhole he will get over it and he has his biking buddies. Sharki get in touch with someone now and get home for the weekend mate, take the hits and move on.

**** me. What's this Rambo, do they think his eaten the dog.

Seriously what about the Spain thing, can he leave without it flagging up somewhere?
What concerns me is that he must know someone that's not going to judge him, someone he can contact that could ease him back so to speak?

i'm pretty sure he hasn't got a valid passport which is why the spain thing isn't getting much thought.

there are plenty of us who he can come to without judgement

I hope when he does turn up, that there will be plenty of offers of lifts if he needs to go ride.

MM Totally unwarranted comments, hope recent events have just led Sharki to hide away from life to get his head sorted and that he turns up safe & sound. All the best!

can't you fly around the european union on a driving licence?

passports aren't essential documents to travel.

Another thing being out for so long now he must be in need of some cash and so if he's used his cashpoint or cards it would of got flagged wouldn't it?

Police have downgraded the search level I thought (previous comment on here) so doubt they'll be bothering checking bank acct details.

I'll just put this thread back on track.

Sharki, make contact dude. Loads of people prepared to chat and help without judgement. Plus we need to ride very soon.

I'll even give you a special cuddle. Reach-around goes without question.

I don't think You can. I can only use my passport or my national ID card but not the driving licence if I want to fly somewhere.

Do you mean the driving licence he lost for drink driving? 🙄

just because he's "lost his licence" for drink driving doesn't mean it's not a valid piece of ID.

whilst typing this ive just been informed you can fly in europe with UK ID card but not a driving licence

I'm not going to post a message as such, because I dont know the guy. I do hope he turns up safe, and I wish people would stop posting inflammatory sh**e whilst he's still missing. I'm probably being naive, but this forum appears to be increasingly unfriendly of late 😕

It's standard procedure to conduct financial intelligence checks in circumstances such as these. I can't imagine for one moment they've not been completed.

Hope the fella turns up soon safe and well.

All the best.

Come back soon dude, hope you are just chilling in the sun somewhere but drop someone a message when you can.

If you are upset about something, talk to someone bud, nothing is too bad that you cant overcome it.

To the people searching: sorry i cant help im miles away but keep up the good work dont let your efforts wane (im sure they wont) and i hope this has a happy ending for everyone.

Think positive folks, there's no one better equipped to look after themselves in the wilds of errr Somerset and Devon than Sharki, in fact it is so wild there are places out there that dont have internet access. No news is good news and he has not surfaced cos he doesn't want too and has no idea that all this fuss is going on.

BTW did a week in the Sierra Nevadas in March and you can't fly to Spain without giving your pasport number, new security regulations that came in this year. I think it is intended to make them Europe wide eventually. Do believe you can still get the ferry on an ID card though.
