Never actually met up with anyone from those forums, but the local riders I've met while out (and shop staff) have all been friendly & offered good routes (& twice been given beer at the bottom of a trail by people in the car parks). Got offered a nightride "DH" shuttle by a group one year but it was the night I was due to fly back to UK.

You will need 6" travel at both ends just for the roads over there 🙂

Not done any riding around those parts, but whilst over visiting my brother a couple of years ago we did go skiing for a few days up around Mammoth Mountain - magnificent! Enjoy it!!!!
