Hmm, sounds good, I fancy another wheelbuild project.
Although... Hubs 550g? Rims 470g each, spokes 6.5g each x 64 spokes, 64 nipples @ 1g each? = 1970g
How did you get down to 1600g?? Think the lightest Open Pros are (stated) 430g? Aluminium nipples would save 40g, triple butted spokes would save 150g... That gets you down to approx 1700g I guess.
Still, that's still lighter than my stock wheels by a good way (I think they're going on 2300g, probably all in the rims and spokes...)
I had this for a couple of years as my commuter. But as these things usually go, it ends up being used a fair bit more.
It was a '56 (I think) Raleigh GT250 with 46/19, which ended up being tinkered with way too much and got replaced by a Dawes Galaxy, that ended up being tinkered with way too much as well.

Was thinking the same. I haven't got to 1600g with the latest set of wheels I have built and I used a pair of DT R650DB rims at 450g each, Halo 6f front hub at 100g with 24 DT Rev spokes at front (110g). Only heavy part is the Halo Fix G hub at rear at 328g.
Total weight 1650g
I don’t use Sapim race spokes, don’t have 32 spokes I think, and it was from memory ;-). Massive difference over the original Kona novatec semi-deep section wheels.
ive also got a vintage set of tubular wheels on magic GP4 rims with an aeroite hub that comes in about the same.
Cop out! You could have tried to claim that was accurate and we could have had 5 pages of spreadsheet based bickering 😉
Oh and I run low flange hubs too! Don’t want it to look like a track wheel hipster sled!

In all its glory. Have gone a bit overboard with the blue anodised parts, but the last two (bottle cage and chainring) were just things I had lying around. Have a silver bottle cage on the way.
10kg on the nose right now, look forward to building some nicer wheels, think there's probably half a kilogram to be saved, might even fit some 28c tyres in the summer, but it IS my commuter so will probably stick to something puncture proof.
Photo's a few years old and I can't for the life of me find those wheels, loved those hi flange Phils. Currently on Campag/Mavic tubs, tied & soldered. Frame is the first iteration of the Potenza, which was a 'nicer' tubeset than the Pista (Dedacciai Zero Replica), Paul track ends and their standard road geometry - think I bought it in 2004 or 5, going by the 'vintage' One Less Car sticker 😀 . It doesn't get a lot of use here in Pais Vasco, the roads are a bit too climby, but I do like to stick some Crud roadracers on when the weather's really grim and battle up the coast road for a few hours.
