There's a circlip which holds the barrel in the lever, number 11 on the exploded view which is extremely fiddly to get back on, I have circlip pliers but it has no "eyes" and the ends are tapered to a point, so I can't get a screwdriver or anything to stay in between them and open it up. Anyone done this before/got any good ideas?
Sport lever btw.
Thanks,
Julian
nobody in the world?
I had the Pro levers. Seem to remember it was pretty fiddly but I'm sure the circlip had eyes and I used straight ended circlip pliers.
Not much use I'm afraid.
Did you manage to get to the bottom of this? I have just stripped a mini lever with a view to giving it an overhaul, only to find a similar problem to the one you reported. Can't see any circlip eyes, in fact it doesn't look like a circlip at all... I'm totally stumped.
Just for the record the circlip had deteriorated and eyes rusted off, so I cleaned it all up as best as possible and put it back together again. It'll be reet....
Normally just a wire clip that can be popped out with a small flat bladed screwdriver on the Mini lever, this allows the removal of the rubber boot which then gives access to the circlip that holds the innards in place. There's probably an exploded diagram on Hope's tech support page.
