Anyone got any ideas what it is? It came with the handbooks of my 2011 Trek Remedy, there is no mention of it in the instructions.

it's a lockring tool
lockring or something to do with an adjustment on your shock?
It's a c spanner.

is it a fixed wheel?
I can't see any lockrings on my bike, I have looked at the rear shock and there is nothing evident. Fixed wheel, it's got gears if that's what you mean. It's got me bamboozled ๐
is it for getting the stones out of horses hoofs?
does it have an eccentric headset or pivot anywhere ?
Its normally for removing wheel bearings on treks
It's a 5 pence piece, or a 10p if you're lucky.

An upside down and back to front metal question mark?
looks like a skyhook..... or a jiggle-pin
Cheers, as far as I know there are no eccentric bearings on the bike, it did have a bontrager 15mm front hub when it was new, So I can only assume it's something to do with that.
coil shock?
it's a C spanner for the lockring/platform on a coil shock.
Coat hook for a cubicle divider on a glass riser.
No coil just the standard RP2 with the Trek DRCV bit on the top
Maybe it was never supposed to come with my bike then?
tomatoevousparlour has it right..
Its for adjusting the preload on the front bearings, although typically they always came overtightened from the factory and destroyed themselves pretty quick sharpish.
That makes more sense, as both my Top Fuels came with one, and neither had a coil shock, but both had Bonty hubs.
It was a bit of a mystery round the workshop until I worked it out..
It attatches to your Prince Albert for carrying that troublesome third shopping bag home from Greggs.
