[#7203498]

the freehub on my croix de fer 30 is on its way out ๐Ÿ™ trying to find a replacement but I am not exactly sure which one I need that fits the formula 11 speed rear hub (according to genesis a Formula CL-92 (which I assume is the front) ย and CL-14251 Sealed Bearing (which I guess is rear). Looks like a custom oem hub for genesis as I cannot find the hub on formula website.

Any ideas anyone?

Have emailed genesis a few times but as usual no reply.

Yup tried that... Unfortunately round here unless I am spending 4 k on something they are just not interested in helping. Promised call backs and nothing. Fed up of chasing. I am pretty sure some of you lot may work in decent bike shops and may be able to help.

Also tried emailing genesis (4 times) and as usual no reply.

It's hard to get spare parts for Formula hubs. However the freehub hub may well be fairly simple and have replaceable pawls and springs - rather than a bolt on unit like Shimano. Only way to find out is to see if this is the case

Great cheers Matt (and all). Did try to strip the thing off the hub but needs a 12mm Allen key (I only have upup to 11). Will borrow one from work and take the thing off. Unfortunately it looks like a sealed unit like the shimano hubs.

don - did you ever get this sorted ? same bike, same hub here, as you know and I think the freehub is getting noisier. As you say appears sealed, so a bit wary about trying to pull apart and add more grease....

Hi iain hope you are well. Sorry missed this first time round!

Yeah I did sort it.... New freehub from UK bike depot dot com.

This is the email I sent to them :

freehub on my croix de fer 30 I bought from you guys is on its way out ๐Ÿ™ trying to find a replacement but I am not exactly sure which one I need that fits the formula 11 speed rear hub (according to genesis a Formula CL-92 (which I assume is the front)ย  and CL-14251 Sealed Bearing (which I guess is rear). For 22 squid they sent me this :

It's very easy to get to.... Remove the axle cap with cone spanner, few taps and the ally axle comes out. Free hub just slides off and pops back on. Simple!

Contains x2 sealed bearings, pawls and springs and is ready to drop back in.

The body unfortunatly has no part numbers or anything but I would just email http://www.ukbikesdepot.com

As they knew exactly what part to send me.

Or if you are just wanting to re grease closest guide to removal is the "bontranger" bit in Park tool guide

Should be able to change just the bearings in that hub body rather than change the whole thing ,

You can.... Easy but for 22 quid.... May aswell buy the whole thing. Bearings, even dirt cheap Chinese things will be a tenner or so. Stock has decent nsk 2rs bearings at 4 quid a pop.
