Unfamiliar territory for me. Would appreciate any suggestions for somewhere to take the bike for a spin, especially after dark.

There are loads of rides in the area, The cycle path runs to whiteheaven and goes by egremont where you can head up the uldale valley to dent and grike. You can head over to ennerdale go up the valley to black sail hut and back down again (all fireroad.)

Are you moving there, or on holiday? I pass through on my commute - 5 min spin up the road gets you to loweswater, then buttermere. Don't miss the kirkstile inn.

On holiday for a while. Few days here then moving on.
Kirkstile Inn for dinner tomorrow.

Free lift to work if you get a puncture near The Spinney on your commute. ๐Ÿ˜‰

The trails around Loweswater (BW up above west side of lake) and Lanthwaite woods hold up well when wet.
Skin is waterproof!
