Just reading through the equipment and under Terry's chainset he says:
Chainring reversed (and chain replaced) after 11,600km
That's pretty good life for a chain isn't it?? Surely he can't mean just one chain...
EDIT: Just read the next bit. Yep, just the one chain. Shows just how good it is not having derailleurs.
