Obviously following the biulding regs and getting building control in to inspect it. anyone done it?

Yup - did it years ago with one of those flexy corrugated stainless ones - copex?

60 ft of it IIRC - from a high chimney on a gable to the celler. smoke bomb / smoky fire in the hearth that you want the flue in to check which chimney pot then long ladder and drop a weighted rope down the chimeny - pull the flue down from the top. Easy peasy

Pre building regs or did you just forget to tell them? They're the one's I worry about.

I don't remember having to get building regs for it. 20+ years ago now tho. Might have been illegal.

Building regs just mean that you have to have things done in a certain way and inspected possibly - not that you have to pay someone to do it

If your not planning to move house and follow the guidelines you should be ok. All the ones i have fitted have been ok

To have it done is the cost of a very nice bike. Do it yourself is the price of a heavy night out.

Its easy to meet building regs anyway - check what the regs are and do the work to that standard. Then get it inspected
