I bought some Sealskinz ones and was a bit unimpressed. I subsequently bought some Snow Deer ones which seem to use exactly the same electrics as the Sealskinz (even down to the batteries) and have been similarly unimpressed. The Snow Deer gloves are a very good quality glove though and nicely packaged (they ought to be for the price!) They claim to get to 50 C, but I'm not convinced.

I have just seen some SabotHeat gloves that advertise the fact that they have Carbon Nanotube heating elements which, according to them, are better than the carbon fibre wire elements in other gloves...

Anyone else got any heated gloves they like/are impressed with?

What don’t you like about the Sealskinz? I’ve got some, they’ve been a game changer for me. I can ride all winter, usually have them on setting 1 which easily lady a 3.5 hour ride, which although my fingers are still cold, they’re not painful. Setting 3 and they are toasty.

TBH I was expecting my hands to be toasty warm on the high setting but they’re just OK and I’ve not been out in any really cold weather yet prob 0 ( minus 2 with wind chill) and I sort of experimented having on e glove switched off to see if my hand got a lot colder than the one with the heater on and it didn’t really. I don’t think they’re faulty as both gloves are the same and in fact the Snow Deer  performance is very similar…

That said I went out for 4 hours today  in the cold and wet and my hands weren’t cold ( mix of high and low settings and the battery eventually ran out about 10 mins from home ). But I don’t think my hands would have been any colder in just my normal Sealskinz. Maybe my expectation is wrong but I read 50degrees and thought that’ll be too hot! They’re definitely not too hot at all.

A mate uses the Sealskinz ones for commuting and winter rides. I borrowed them one day and was very impressed. If I was commuting 100 miles a week through winter like he does, I'd certainly consider them.

I had some of those sealskinz waterproof gloves. Not the battery-heated ones. Waterproof, sure. But when wet they got cold really quickly. Dreadful. Gave them to one of my children. Went back to not waterproof but warm ground effect windproof fleece gloves.

I have some Outdoor research ones. Lucent I think. I'm on my second pair as is sweamrs. We're on our second pairs purely because after maybe 4 years of use pretty much every weekend through winter they were showing their usage and the batteries weren't holding charge as well.

We're in Canada and I reckon they're good down to about -15C for at least a couple of hours. The limiting factor is the cold affecting the battery life. Batteries are under the wrist so perhaps not ideal position but workable.

They do all seem to use the same electronics but vary in price from £50 to £300! Of the ones I’ve bought the Snow Deer are the most comfortable. I’m going to try the SabotHeat next.

Pogies don't require any batteries 😜 I use mine for commuting all winter (Norway), never have more than a liner glove on underneath! Have both basic neoprene and fancy expensive ones, both do a great job.
