[#5455614]

Thinking about getting a Weeride to put on my cyclocross bike but the literature says not to put them on bikes with drop bars.

Anyone know a) why? and b) really?!

Probably the reach, even on mtb bars my boys head bounces on my chest sometimes. With drops it'd be a lot closer.

I have one and I reckon on a drop bar bike you'd be crushing the passenger with your chest.

Yes and as above you wouldn't be ale to reach around past the child's head
I've got mine on my old MTB, it's more fun on an MTb anyway she loves the bumps

I had one on an old MTB, wouldn't even consider it on a CX bike.

Edit: Just seen last post. Buy an old clunker.

The drops would probably catch on the foot rests, and there would not be enough room for your kid between your arms/torso.

I've got mine on an MTB with 720mm bars so I can get round the Weeride. His head is pretty close to my chest. Drops would be unworkable.

It's the width of the bars that's the issue.
