[#5925762]

Looking to replace my Boardman Comp, which has served me well for the last 4 years and the RT-58 looks like it fits the bill perfectly. Under budget at £1,400 with a great spec and nice stealthy look. Problem is I’m seriously struggling to find any reviews and I’m slightly reluctant to buy one with little to no user feedback.

So has anyone got one??

With a budget of about £1,600 (possibly slightly more) I’m also looking at both the Giant TCR & Defy 1 Composites and the Cube Agree GTC Race. Getting demos of anything is proving difficult though!

What's the difference between this and the carbon bike they sell for £999 sorry I'm being lazy and had 1 too many lagers to research 😉

£999 is ultegra mix 6700 10spd. Rt58 is internally cabled, tapered head tube, five sizes for better fit, ultegra 6800 11spd full groupset.

It's a lovely frame. Turned me into a roadie when I was testing it.

Do you do test rides Brant? And is there any reviews kicking about?

Not wishing to steal Brant's thunder but i've had a 2013 Defy Composite 1 for about 2 months and i've really enjoyed it after 24 yrs as an MTB'er. I put a Spesh saddle on, and some Conti 4000s's but other than that i've just ridden it. I'm on the Isle of Man and it does well on some of our cacky roads with poor surfaces and lots of muck. Fast, comfortable (2*Carpal tunnel ops) and it cleans with wipes too - no hoses and scouring pads here...

Good prices @ Pauls's Cycles (never realised they did road bikes as only ever seen them in the comics..) depending on your sizes.

I bought one mid February. It's my first road bike so not really got much to compare it to apart from a couple of others I had short test rides on. I really like it, I only tend to do 25-50 mile rides but find it really comfortable. Other than a couple of small changes I've made it's pretty standard and weighs a touch over 8kg without pedals (on my luggage scales). Don't really know what else to say about it. Looks ace in matt black 🙂

Couldn't find any online reviews when I was buying so went over to the Barnsley store to have a look before I bought it, staff and service were excellent, poor bloke ended up staying back for about an hour after closing while I hopped between various bikes set up on turbo trainers trying to decide whether to buy one or not. Glad I did. Was built and ready to collect in about 3-4 days.

£1600 will get you a canyone Ultimate CF if I recall with 105 groupo.

I just bought the ultegra version and very impressed so far. looks awesome as well.
