I'll just use that list up there and give folk 15mins grace each day. Cheers for making my life a bit easier.
If the weather is really shit i have some grim weather options, but being a kayaker and former ranger my definition of grim weather is pretty ****ing grim. Come well wrapped up if the weather looks bad.
coming down to the tweed valley with "valley" to ride up and down the valley hopefully in the worst weather of the year with hurricane winds, axle deep mud,and a sense of humour, hopefully goan has prebooked the grim weather to keep us all entertained, stw virgin at 45 please break in gently, sees ya on sunday
I'll be there come hell or high water tomorrow. Are we meeting at the Red Bull car park? I'll be in a white Citreon van with a red Tinbred in the back. My mate was thinking of coming too, he's got a blue Polo and will prob be riding a battered Klein.
I'll be in the turquoise and orange (rust) vito, looking ill and hopefully, vaguely female.
I'll be vaguely manly.
I'll be on my bike.
Red bull car park is where we're meeting.
there's more than one car park? i'll be somewhere.....
good luck guys, take a sail and you'll be on the minch moor in no time
Put me down for Sunday's ride - see y'all at Inners car park.
Blue Hyundai i30, silver Titus Motolite on which I'll be attempting to not fall off as quickly as I did at the last STW meet... ๐ฅ
Todays weather outlook - Pretty ****ing Grim - Gales and heavy rain - Nice.
Crack on mate. I'd be there but for reffing duties. See ya tomorrow.
That was ****ing windy. Good ride though.
Aye, never had to hold onto my bike to stop it blowing away before.
Kudos George et al - if I hadn't had to work today, still wouldn't have gone out! Hope it's calmer tomorrow.
Put me down for Sunday's ride - see y'all at Inners car park.
HH, Sunday's ride meets at GT!

Yup, realised that a while ago when someone (valley) emailed me!
Cheers, Kit
Yip, very bottom car park at GT tomorrow. 10am.
i rather liked the weather! top fun, see you tomorrow unless the effects of my ginger singletracking at the end there prove more irksome than they currently appear...
How was the ride today guys?
Windy, windy, windy. Tried bike flying at the three brethren. Got mine two feet off the ground.
some pics on my facebook page.
So how was the terrain? Compared to the red route at GT? And whats the planned route like for sunday?
No hard core in sight for one thing. Loads of roots for another. And some water and mud. And did we mention the wind yet.
It was a big long, 42 mile, ride on mostly open moorland. Double track with some nice sections of rooty singletrack, technically i'd say it is more tricky than the red at GT by a fair distance, but thats because the red at GT is like riding on the pavement.
lol. I think its meant to be nice tomorrow. No wind.I considering coming down, Im humming and hawwing over it just now.
Come down. Even with the wind it'd be fine.
Thanks Goan. How will tomorrows trail be? I dont mind the distance but I a bit of a $hit bag at the first couple of descents.
Have a look at the pictures on one of the earlier pages. It's not technical, it is pretty fast.
bugger, i've been on leave for 2 weeks and forgotten about this as i've not been online ๐
Well you would appear to have remembered just in time... ๐
i've got no transport and i've arranged to do a road ride tomorrow ๐ฅ
tomorrows ride, i'm the really good looking guy....... cant miss me
You should wear some lead boots tomorrow fella. If the wind is like today - you're ****ed.
my ears do play an dis/advantage in the wind i suppose
I'm planning on coming now. I'll be in a Grey Toyota Celica riding a Cannondale Rush. See you there!
i've got no transport and i've arranged to do a road ride tomorrow
cancel the road, and do the forum ride, you know you wanna!!!!
Where u travelling from??
edinburgh, but as much as i'd love to, i can't let my friend down. damn my time off for not being online and remembering about this. at least the wind will be better than today, was bad enough running never mind riding!
For those that are swithering, There is not a cloud in the sky and not a breath of wind out there today...
packing my van as we speak. weather looks great. switherers should get be getting out the door!
Wouldnt you know it, been up half the night while last nights meal deceided whether it liked being in my stomach or not (it didn't btw). Feeling fragile but coming anyway - want to at least see the way out. There's plenty chances to bail, eh?
Thy Gypsy Glen loop is only around 10-12 miles or so and there are no real chances to bail on it. But plenty chances to go hide and have an evacuation.
Once you get into GT the options for bailing are limitless.
*packs some tissues for robgarrioch*
great ride, sorry i had to bale after Gypsy Glen, sure glupton will have got you all lost by now anyway ๐
Quality ride with some epic skid marks being left.
Yes indeed, a fine way to spend a sunny Sunday morning. More kudos to George for bringing it together, and not a stack to be seen (up to Glentress at least??). Reckon that 1st climb through the heather may be THE new challenge. Some photo efforts from the day -
A litle gnarl-stylin'
And a few more [url=

P.S. is Glentress dust actually the most penetrative substance on the planet?
I didn't get many photos today, and they were mostly crap. Great ride thought! Don't feel shagged now as I did at the Hub.
