Severe cold kicked in badly post Xmas day so not been out since, starting to itch and have to visit the garage to view / stroke the bike till I can get out.
Ride through it normally but three weeks nearly and I can't shake the damn thing off, worried if I ride will be out even longer :/

Unusually for me, I've done nothing but MTBing this year - 3 rides. It's been sub zero for the first week and after several incidents in previous years with black ice I've promised myself not to road ride in these conditions. So local MTBing has been the go-to. This week it's just been windy as hell (so no road/gravel) out there and the rain has turned the trails back into mud fests (so no MTB), so have been running A LOT. 100km so far this year and 170KM since Christmas.
Aye, exams at the start of the year didn't finish til 11th, and it's been icy or pissin since. Gonna dig instead, so we've something new to ride when I can be arsed getting the bike out again.
I've ran nearly 50 miles, which isnae too bad, just behind target for the 1500 miles this year.
I haven’t. But it’s more to do with having 2 year old twins abs a wife that works full-time rather than anything Covid related. And it sucks.
This thread inspired me to finally sort it out and get the mtb out of the shed for the first time this year last night.
Had a fab ride in the snow doing my local loop.

Thanks for the nudge, will try and keep it up now.
Not been on my gravel bike since early November due to a frozen shoulder problem.
My HT has not moved for 6 years due to injuries. Was hoping to get out on it recently but the snow is making me more than a bit nervous. Guess what.... another 4-5" yesterday so it looks like no ride again this weekend. 🤦
Great photo @scaled
Had to pop into work yesterday afternoon, jumped on the bike (only 8.5 miles each way) and my first ride of the year was rewarded with a Kingfisher flying alongside me for 200m on the way home, amazing sight!.
Not slung a leg over a bike since the end of November - we have horses as well, so once winter hits the work there increases massively so not had the motivation to get wet and muddy on the bike as well. Might try and get out this weekend though 👍

Full MemberNope, haven’t been on my mountain bike since the end of November, the weekend before I started radiotherapy. I had a couple of goes on Zwift in the garage last week, but that wasn’t very comfortable as Trevor (my tumour) made it very clear he wasn’t pleased. Then I started chemo on Friday and have been feeling a bit barfy most days. Hoping to give the turbo another go in a day or two if I feel better, as the doc did prescribe me some rather excellent painkillers to try and keep Trev quiet.
I live for and love my bikes, but in reality, once I’ve finished the chemo, and have had surgery, I’m probably going to be looking at mid-late summer before I can properly get out again. The upside of it though, is you should see the new bike I have my eyes on. I bought my dream bike (Orange Four Factory spec), five years ago as a treat to myself for surviving a stupid snowboarding accident where I broke my back, but came out of recovery relatively unscathed. This time….whooo….I’m going to treat myself.

I’d heard about your horrible turn of events from KW, thoughts are with you. Looking forward to seeing that new bike on the Mine Wood trails later in the summer, best wishes with the treatment.
Not been out since before Christmas. I managed to pour a pan of boiling water over myself in between Christmas and New year which resulted in 3rd degree burns on my foot. I've had to keep my leg raised since, just standing still was really painful so ive been a couch potato for a few weeks. Only seems to be getting better over the last few days so sat here contemplating riding my bike to the hospital to get my dressing changed...
It's really unusual for me to not ride all year but I haven't touched my bikes since Dec16. Normally I would have been excited by the frzen ground and the snow but it just feels too daft to be doing potentially dangerous stuff at the moment. My wife is taking full advantage by persuading me on walks every day, which does for now. Longing for a ride in the Peaks though...
