Nope - but this is a bit worrying. My Handjob doesn't get thrashed too much cause of my style riding. What were you doing?

So the second time the down tube hit the tree yeah? This can happen to any frame

Suppose that could happen anytime, I have a wee tiny dink (no jokes) in my toptube from dropping mine, bugs me a wee bit but I know it is no great issue. Your appear to have just been unlucky.

Seen two break, one in a bike-dog crash and another in "just riding along" style (under compression in a bombhole, no crash). Both folded downtube.

Think you have to differentiate between the old and the new HJ.
I heard a few stories of the old one folding.

Yes, but it was at 80mph and a Fabia drove over it.

Maybe it was something to do with it being a singlespeed? ๐Ÿ˜

I broke an old one. Folded the top tube somehow, JRA.

Andywhit: "one in a bike-dog crash"

That was mine! And it was more than a bend in the downtube - it was more a concertina effect. 2 crumples in the downtube and 2 in the top tube.

To be fair to Cove, I was going fast, and am a big lad, and effectively drove the bike directly down into the ground with a lot of force.

Edit: I also got a half price replacement (newer model)

Seen about 4 or 5 broken handjobs from my time in bike shops - usually the result of an impact - the first ones were highly butted making them lovely and sringy but with kind of a built in crumple zone. Are cove still doing a crash replacement thing?

Mine too but they were really quite thin walled tubes with a lot of butting so not surprised to hear any of this

I love my Handjob and if it breaks I'll cry!
I bought it second hand - will they do crash replacement on that?

Mine's the same as Juan's and he does big ol' jumps on his. I don't, but weigh about 4 stone more than him. Who's is most likely to bust??

Mine dented really easily just from stones flying up at Cwmcarn. It is one of the newer frames but its still really thin. I dont really know how much this has weakened it but it looks a bit worrying!

Ditto mine, but Spanish stones (known to be particularly dangerous to steel frames).

I don't worry about it at all though.

I thought it sounded a bit fragile when I got it. I have never dented any of my other frames.
Its a shame as its a lovely ride but its sat unbuilt in the garage atm.

No issues with mine, had a few crashes too, over the bars n all that stuff.

The frame does sound kinda liek alloy when you flick a tube with yer finger though, must be the thinness of the tubes

I did but just the smallest of cracks but I was dropping steps to flat. Not really designed for that I suppose.
