I may have the opportunity to move to Nairobi. Anyone been? Or done any riding round there?

I was out there a few year back without a bike, but really wished I'd had access to one. The Rift Valley looks like it must have loads of potential. We did some hiking out at Naivasha and there looked to be loads of trails around that area.

I would reckon it's an area where local knowledge would be absolutely key though.

Naivasha is a good call - It's a long time since I was there, but Hell's Gate national park (just to the south of Naivasha and the inspirtion for The Lion King - ironically) is one of only a few NPs you can walk or cycle through because there are no Lion (or very few) big cats.

If you search on youtube there are a few clips of MTBing on Mount Kenya too.

Not that it helps the OP, but my time in Kenya and in particular, Hell's Gate NP is what inspired me to take up mountain biking. Along with the Rift Valley, Mt Kenya would have some wonderful trails. Great country, but Nairobi is dubious at best!
