It's a randonnee. 50k, 115k, 210k. Starts from Fairlands Valley Park, Stevenage.
I was going to try the 210k, but see how I feel on the day, probably end up with the 115k.
Evening STWers?
I take it a Randonnee just means long organised ride, like a French version of a Sportive?
Yes that's right. You get a route sheet on the day or route details from the website beforehand. You get a brevet card which you can have stamped at various checkpoints if you're serious about collecting Audax points (which you need to accummulate for certain competitions).
The best part is the tea and cakes in village halls along the way, and it's cheap to enter, and a nice atmosphere.
Randonees are for cyclists who know they're not racing, whereas sportives are for those who think they are.
