Would you mind if I joined along? assuming you're doing the Llanberis path that is - not ready for the Ranger just yet!
End of April for us although It's llanberis up and rangers down. It's not that bad though. Plenty of our group will be walking what they don't like the look of.

Aye. Promised myself I'd do it twice this year, once on foot in winter conditions (but missed my chance I think) then on the bike, Llanberis up and Rangers down. Sometime before the bike ban in the next few weeks otherwise. If it snows again, the axe is coming out instead.
Assuming you're doing it for fun, rather than cock measuring, theres really no problem with walking the bits you don't like the look of.
Nearly all of it can be done at a steady pace.
