Mulling over a couple of summer options, would this be more hiking or biking?

Cheers

I thought as much, anything in the Rothiemurchus Estate worth doing - with a couple of nights wild camping?

No it's rubbish. Try Wrexham.

Almost anywhere is worth doing.

Track up to Loch Einich is lovely and you can camp at the loch.

Lairig Ghru from Rothiemurchus Lodge down to Inverdruie is fantastic.

Lovely bits of singletrack abound - like the bit from Loch an Eilean, past Loch Ghamhna to Feshiebridge

Loop out from Glenmore, An Slugan, Nethybridge, Forest Lodge, Ryvoan is a good spin on fast tracks.

More good singletrack in Inshriach Forest (apparently) and don't forget to visit the cake shop.

Feeling brave? Head up the Carn Ban Mor track from the end of Glen Feshie for one of the longest descents in the UK.

Did that last Easter,& the climb up goes on forever, but the descent is defintely more than worth the effort!

Been a few times now including being guided once by one of the trail makers. Now the snow is departing I'll be leading a club ride up there again soon. You're welcome to join us.

Ride up from the south, through Glen Tilt, and it slowly gets harder...

Devs, post up on here when your Inschriach trip comes off. If its not the weekend of Stuartie C's Ullapool epic I might come up.

I'll second that. Done it a couple of times, once in pissing down rain, once with lots of snow & ice. You'll curse the entire way across from the lodge to the top of the trail, but the despair is very soon forgotten.

I'll keep a eye out for it. I've geen guided around there once by a local guy ( a trailbuilder called Paul ?) and he showed us loads of natural trails, but there are masses more.

The tail end of the Lairig Ghru is awesome as you descend into Rothiemurcus. We did a loop last year starting at Loch Morlich, riding up the trail adjacent to the Ski road, through the Chaliman pass (which is a carry through a boulder field) onto the Lairig Ghru and into Rothiemurcus. Cracking ride.

Apart from that, theres not a lot to see up here, not worth the trip ๐Ÿ˜‰

I'm afraid all these trails are closed for the foreseeable future, nothing to see, move along quietly.

You back on the bike yet AJ? Heard that weather and fatherhood had kept you off for a few months.
