I'm seriously looking at converting one of the family bikes into an e-bike.

The Bafang 1000w conversion looks very appealing. I think it would mean the entire family could do some hilly stuff without the ususal moaning....

Basically, assuming a decent e-drive system then the finished bike will be higher spec for lower price than buying an off the shelf bike.

thanks.

No. Off-road usage on private land only.

I actually considered it for my fat bike when I started commuting, it's just a smidgen too far to be comfortable without a shower at 25miles, even on the road bike. But electrifying the for a bike feels like cheating (and would probably strain it somewhat, and make a light bike heavy) hence doing the fat bike.

But they don't do a sided kit, I wanted something that would just bolt to the ISCG tabs or something, not integrate through the BB. And inevitably I'd want to fit to to other bikes in the future.

Good idea - uplift on demand.

What about your family?
