I've been running a 29er Inbred (geared) with RebaSLs for a while now and have been tempted to try the scandal going for something lighter. Anyone riden both to give me an idea of what if any weight saving or change in ride characteristics there are..?
Have owned both, not a lot of difference but the scandal is slightly stiffer and seems to get the power down more efficiently somehow.
sounds like it may be worth a go then, did you run a carbon fork or suspension fork on scandal?
Ran it with both, photos here
At the time I had a qr reba which was dead flexy and an on-one carbon fork which was pretty good for rigid, now down to the reba but have modded it with 20mm lowers and it is loads better. Both the scandal and the steel inbred have now gone to make way for a ti29er, one of the best bikes I have ever ridden, if you can afford it get one.
