What do they wash like? How do you take care of them? Someone was kind enough to get me one for christmas but not sure how they'll stand up to mud

Mine gets muddy. Usually just wipe it down because it's going to get muddy again next ride.

Does wash nicely though.

It's a few years old now and has done 3 StrathPuffers.

All you need under it is a thin merino T-shirt for most conditions.

I used to. I still think it was the best riding top I've used. After about 3 years of use, it got trashed in an altercation with a barbed wire fence. I replaced it with a Gore NTS jacket, which is far less breathable, and doesn't really seem to offer any more protection. My next riding top will definitely be another vapor rise.

I have a Buffalo Teclite, which is similar to the Vapourise. It's easy to wear and wash and it's excellent in a range of conditions. I'm not sure I would use it in summer, but for a lot of the time with just merino t-shirt or long-sleeve and the Buffalo over the top it's great.

The only slight faff if you're riding with a backpack is that the straps of the pack can get in the way of the side venting zips of the Buffalo. I can't remember if the Vapourise has similar zips.

What so wash like a merino base layer? How do people treat them? Its the power stretch top so seems massivley practical, just don't want to ruin it.
