It's a mystery ๐Ÿ™‚

The underlined username takes you to the Profile page.

The underlined word "Member" says it'll take you to the profile page but doesn't. It takes you to Forum Activity.

It's having a website in your profile that makes you underlined.

[edit] except it isn't. Looked at 4 and all did and underlined didn;t then looked at zippykona.

Maybe it's a non default image?

Doesn't it indicate who's been looking at (cough) inappropriate images online. Unless I'm underlined. In which case it indicates who HASN'T.

If you've got his address, yes, absolutely. Why not?

If the dog's eaten his internet again, he'd be pleased to be able to contact you.

Call in. You can always run away if he looks bigger than you.

I say go for it if its not too far out of your way. No harm in asking for an explanation.

Perhaps a sinkhole has opened under his house. Careful you don't fall in too.

It's not. It's if they have an email or website in their portfolio.

I used to have my underlined username setup so it was a link to my website. Got a decent number of hits from here too. Then they did away with the ability to do that, but there's obviously a connection with the underlining and having a website in your portfolio.

He won't be able to answer, it's like the TV series Revolution round there.

All electrical items stop working forever.

No items as promised, no refunds, no communication, no Tony, no word from Tony's mates (who were very keen to stand up for Tony on pages 2&3).......

Not a lot of positives at the moment!

Has he got some huge personal crisis going on?

Does seem really odd for such a regular poster to just completely disappear with such a realtively small amounts of money?

Not as strange as the silence from those that backed him and were very rude to you chaps that have been ripped off. Just read the whole thread and think he's bang out of order, regardless of what's going on in his private life.

I've sold loads on other forums (retrobike mostly)and ebay and wouldn't dream of acting like this. It once took me a couple of weeks to send a set of forks off to Oz but I kept the buyer up to date at least every other day and offered to refund due to my poor time keeping (that couldn't be helped for one reason or another). The buyer got them in the end and was very happy.

Sounds like this bloke's conned you. Wouldn't be suprised if those that said it was a cheap payday loan gone wrong were not far off the truth. Seems to be a lot of that going on atm.

I dont think anyone was 'backing him' in the beginning, they were saying 'wait and see' cos it was still early days and the pitchforks were out far too early.

Now more time has passed and more info is available it is looking worse and worse, but we still don't know exactly what is going on...

It would be a very bizarre thing for such a regular poster to suddenly decide to do this over such a small amount of money unless there is something else going on.

Payday loan speculation aside or whatever, the point is there's probably more to it than meets the eye, maybe he is in financial trouble, stress can make people do some very stupid things, and financial trouble can be very very stressful, and although I don't condone what he has done so far I would imagine for someone with genuine problems it might be very difficult to come back and explain yourself after an event like this, maybe he just doesn't have the balls to admit it at the moment.

For all we know he could be crying at home in a pit of despair over losing his house and not being able to feed his family at the moment, and some handlebars are the least of his worries, but then again he could be a guy who just stole seventy quid for sh1ts and giggles, we don't just don't know...

It reminds me of Insert Wit Here/IWH who was a regular poster on a number of fora, but he did it with a hell of a lot more money, this barely seems worth the effort!

Im afraid I failed in my quest. A: it was further off route than i suspected and B: my time when I was meant to be leaving was taken up by a young lady..

<tinfoilhat>

Or a cunning ploy - defraud one forum/member for a lot of money, or many forums for smaller amounts. We know of two forums cycling related that he's done this to, he may have done it on lots of others. The thought process possibly being just what people have said here, that a) he's a regular poster so why would he do it for such a small sum of money and b) its a small sum of money, most people won't chase it up.

</tinfoilhat>

Or, it could be that he's got other stuff going on....who knows. Either way he's buggered off with peoples money and not sent the stuff.

I'll admit I was one of the defenders, not because I knew tony but because of his posting history, and was advocating a wait and see strategy. My guess is that there is more than meets the eye on this, be it a payday loan gone sour or personal issues. Either way he's made me look stupid, and has taken folks cash.

It's in the rules:

Rules:

1)He who sells on the internet should not be a d***.

2)He who flames wrongly should be flamed themselves.

a quick search on google images of Renthal Fatbars suggests Tony didn't take that photo of the bars!

if you mean the original source of the image being ehre:

http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/8281047/

then it's possible Tony bought them from that chap originally, either that or he's even naughtier!

Ah, the forks haven't arrived either! Mind you, I haven't paid for them. At least there isn't someone else out there waiting for Tony to get to the post office!

Now, i'm not the kind of person who gets incolved inthese situations, nor am i the kind of chap who likes to dispense advice. However, my many years of accumulated wisdom have led me to recommend that you don't pay send any money for those forks.
