Hot off the CNC machines. It's the first AngleSet for ZS44-ZS56 tapered head-tubes, which fits the Orange 5. It's so fresh it's not even anodized yet!

No idea, I thought it was only for tapered, as the new orange 5 has a tapered headtube & fork?

Tapered headtubes yes but by offsetting the lower crown race I don't thinks there's room for a 1/2" steerer-maybe.

Yup only for 1 1/8th forks. Works with 1.5 or tapered head tubes though.

Yes, but bearing in mind the biggest problem with 1&1/8 is the lower headtube flairing or destroying cups rather than the steerer bending tapered is still a good idea even if you don't embrace a heavier tapered fork.

wouldn't ever want a 5 tho.. no matter what the geometry.

yes, I have.

I hate high/forward single pivots.. I could go into why, but it's simply personal preference so may not apply to you anyway.

fair enough... i luv my five tho... altho it did butt me into the air last weeks at whinlatter ! i wondered why then looked around on the track and there was someones 'water bottle' on the track-..it slid under my back wheel and it skidded me off ! lol.... i went one way-the bike went t'other way. lol
just did some higher 'drop offs' at Lee Quarry yesterday (i was chuffed with that)....
so yeah anyway the five seems to suit my geomatory me being a tiny pip-squeek and prob the only 'gal' in the 'north west' with a 14 inch frame, but i can spend hours on it really ! lol...

Looks like a nice bit of kit, the angleset... Will be keeping an eye on those when they make it to the shops.

northwind - readytoride and K9 already do angled reducer cups to fit various DH frames

The single pivot Oranges suit faster riders than mincers i think.

I believe tapered "works components" cups are on their way from readytoride. I'd call them if you're interested

So it turns an ordinary 5 into an Alpine 5? ๐Ÿ˜‰

if so how what are the angle changes.

Hmmm says its head-tube length independent, might be interested if they aren't silly money.

"So it turns an ordinary 5 into an Alpine 5?"

Slacks off a carbon 456 nicely... That's been my main dislike of taper as a standard, 1.5 til now's given a lot more flexibility but if Works and Cane Creek are going to cater for taper that's good.

So you have to use a 1 /18 fork in a tapered headtube.

So you'll get a slacker angle (either by 1 or 1.5 degrees), but you'll miss out on the tapered headtube benefits, is that right?
