Am going to order a Reverb this week and after looking at the options, I really fancy the Stealth, as a couple of mates have older ones and I'm not so keen on the big loop of cable that can bunch up when you drop it. Only trouble is I have a 2010 Yeti 575 which obviously doesn't have an outlet for the hose. Sooooo what do people think, too risky or what? At the end of the day it's only drilling a hole in aluminium, do it every day in work or am I risking structural damage to the frame?
KS Lev will prevent the loop, without drilling any holes.
Ok cheers, any good? Reliability issues etc?
Wouldn't bother me as long as it was done away from the cross-brace or the bottom pivot. I've drilled and fettled frames before. Just do it neatly in a sensible place.
Nickjb - that's sort of along the lines I was thinking, was thinking of the reverb as they seem to get the best write ups, not adverse to considering other options though, anyone tried the Fix doss?

Haven't got one yet but the word of mouth is very good (KS used to be a bit wobbly but they upped their game a lot) My old KS i900r has been very good indeed.

Other than the fixed cable routing of the Lev, the Fox and Reverb differ in that the Fox has 3 fixed positions (full up, down 2" or so, full down) while on the Reverb, Lev and a lot of others you can set the post at any height that you want. Some people like 2 or 3 positions; others want infinite adjustment.
And as far as the Fox, every review that I've read says that they don't like the remote levers. Usual comments are that they are too big and awkward to reach. I've never used one though.
+1 for the ks lev. I wouldn't drill an expensive frame. But I'm no engineer.

I removed this bottle cage bolt from a frame to discover it was hiding this lethal structural defect 🙂

Within reason a tube can tolerate having a hole in it
I've drilled holes in bottom bracket shells and dremmelled cable guides. I'd considered fitting a hose through the redundant bottle boss.
Are the stealth reverbs available now then?
I reemed my seat tube down from 30.0 to 30.9 to fit KS dropper post.
Worked a treat
If the frame is still in warranty, I wouldn't - otherwise, why not?

As someone who wanted a KS Lev for similar reasons (loopy bit of cable was annoying me on my Reverb) I got one.
It went back after a week, due to excessive play.
The replacement came, which had even more play (approx 1cm play in all directions!). It went back
The third one came. And the whole shaft fell out of the top of the lower section when I took it out of the box.
Each time it took nearly 2 weeks to resolve. Compared to the Reverb on my wife's bike that broke (due to a crash) they replaced it for free, in 2 days. And refunded all the postage costs. I'm still fighting for those back with the KS.
I have put my Reverb back on. I can put up with the cable loop for something that works. This is the second KS post i've had that doesn't work. No more chances now. My mate wanted a 150mm drop one, but having seen my experience, he's not bothering now.
Hob Nob - Wow, 1 cm is a lot of play! I've never heard of anyone having anything like the sort of problems that you've had with your Lev.
