Thinking of taking the kids tomorrow, wondering if there's much snow/ice at the moment. None in Midlothian but I'm sure I saw a pic yesterday with snow up spooky wood levels.
Only went up to above Buzzards Nest, but even there (and a good way below), there was some icy sketchiness. Predominantly in N/NW facing places without tree cover. Also watch out for 20-50m beyond puddles and water splashes.
All OK, just needed a bit of awareness and care.
I've been to the top of venlaw today. No snow there but thick thick frost and if there are any puddles they'll be sold ice.
You'll be grand.
Yes.
Boundary trail was hard frozen ice. Wasn't too bad below that. Some sketchy corners here and there.
Tis true, ice abound but not really a problem considering the trail surface.. YMMV
Was sketchy in bits. Mid-section red trails were hard and a bit icy in bits. Spooky wood had packed powder snow that was really grippy. Bottom trails were hard but grippy.
Be careful.
