For the last couple of months I've been going out for a ride on a Monday night at Hamsterley, finishing around 8.30. I think Monday gone will be the last time I'll be able to do it without a front light, cos the Grove Loop back towards the car park was just a bit too dark - I could see which way the trail went but couldn't watch out for dog cak etc.
Anyone got any suggestions? Not looking to spend much because I'm poor! Also don't go fast enough to need 40,000 lumens...
Ta,
C.
Deal Extreme have a load of p7 led torches very cheap that you could easily helmet mount with zip ties.
Personally I'd save up another £15 and get the 900 lumem (allegedly) magicshine from dealextreme.
I've got 2 and it doesn't half kick a lot of light out with them both on full.
2nd carlosg, and extra £15.00 and a whole lot more shine for your bucks.

Just out of curiousity, What bike do you ride ?

Yeah, if you can stretch to 50 go for the proper bike light from dx. That's what use. Nb, one of the versions comes with a helmet mount too for the same price.
Silver GT Avalanche
Cheers all, just ordered the suggested light from DX. Here before Xmas do you think??
Depends if they are being honest about the stock levels or not.
I've had stuff from DX in days and have had stuff that took 9 months due to their system being gash
Someone recommend Best Offer Buy as a speedier alternative to DX if it helps. Never used them myself tho.
Good choice, it normally takes around 10days to arrive.
How about this, if you don't need mega power?

Looks like the right sort of thing for canal towpaths etc actually.
