[#2873367]

I've just replaced my old dishwasher with a new Bosch one, it came with standard hose for connecting to water supply.

The dishwasher I removed had a small box on the end of the hose (pipe end, not dishwasger end). As the water hose the box seems to have electrical wires connecting it to the washer. I assume that this is a pressure regulator or safety cut off to stop the machine flooding.

What is this mystery thing and do I need one of these on the hose for my new dishwasher? The old one is sealed to the appliance so I cannot do a straight swap. If I do need one, can I use the machine in the interim whilst I wait for it to be delivered.

Ta

Bosch used to put the gubbins at the water supply end so that if the hose split/leaked it could shut the water off by detecting flow when it wasn't expecting it.

I've not come across this with other makes and have never worried about it.

The old one was a Siemens.

So do you think I don't need to worry about it an just plumb straight in using the standard hose

if your new dishwasher doesn't have the special hose then it probably can't use whatever electronic gubbins is in there?

Yep, but, the instructions show the standard hose being plumbed into the 'lttle box thing' before getting to the mains tap.

The instructions are the ikea standard picture guide without any actual words.

The inlet connection on the appliance also seems to have a small electrical connector available
