yep, veet my legs and shave chest, back, bum, genital area ( tho not all of it, i trim the rest down with scissors to a 4-5mm.)
Feel like an eel o the bike, although be warned, the first few times you veet or shave the legs, the thigh areas and inner thigh areas are unbelievably itchy so buy some anti itching cream at the same time
Blimey radoggair. ๐ฏ Why?
Blimey radoggair. Why?
why not?
i like my wimen smooth and sweet and alot like men the same.
Chest because i prefer it,
legs for road biking.
Bum because i get carried away at times with my razor ๐
How do you do your own back with a razor??? ๐ฏ
as soon as all my latest abrasions and holes heal, yep definitely because it's a damn site easier to stick ****in great big wound dressings on to smooth skin rather than furry legs. (I'm also a great big woofty mincer so no problems there either :D)
All this doesn't really answer the question. why do roadies shave their legs? If your crashing that much then learn to ride properly ๐ฏ
The whole leg shaving thing is some sort of homoerotic ritual that some cyclists feel they need to be part of
do it in the middle of winter then, regret much ?
All this doesn't really answer the question. why do roadies shave their legs?
Because they do.
Though I've never shaved mine, and my legs are ****in' hairy. However, if I do recover any sort of fitness to race the bike this year, I shall get the razor out and incur the wrath of Mrs North.
Always have done. Why not? Worrying about whether to shave or not is for very insecure mincers! xx
BB
hairy legs gives that great hairy lycra look on the road bike when they poke through the fabric. I like very much. ๐
I use an epilator. Smoooooooth. Tempted to try waxing but it sounds like more faff.
Why not?
Why do it?
I did Builth in lycra on sunday..too hot for baggies over Assos my usual prefrered combo...felt a bit wierd not having shaved legs!..will be doing it soon...used some hair removing cream on my nads when I had the snip..may give that a try!
Mate of mine who frequents these parts has concentrated more on MTB than road this year just because his wife reduces his bedroom action quota ๐ when he shaves his legs!
Lol
Why don't runners shave their legs?
Anyway forget shaving - how do I fill in the massive craters in my shins from crashes & pedal strikes? That's a more MTB problem
Why don't runners shave their legs?
Err... many do. It makes massage easier, so if you're getting a lot of massage it makes sense.
Also reduces the risk of infection on skin wounds, which is a strong case for cyclists, but less so for runners.
The GF's put paid to me doing it this year so far, hairy just feels so wrong!
Get mine waxed every 4 weeks
C_G I totally agree........it would FREAK ME OUT if my bloke were to even mention shaving anything other than his face :-0
was going to start a thread similar myself.....
what shaving cream is there? i dont want to shave prefferably, so veet etc is an option right??? id prefer to it that way as shaving often leaves me with a rash on my legs ๐
so what product for men for removing hair on the legs?
Doesn't sound like you ladies are as enamoured with smooth male legs as they tell us you are ๐
I often consider doing it but have never got round to it yet. For the 'why do it' question, well for a start it would be much easier to clean up shin wounds and stick a plaster on them.
so what product for men for removing hair on the legs?
i use veet sensitive. The first time used it twice because of length of hairs on legs.
How do you do your own back with a razor???
either reach around ( its not really that hairy anyway) or mostly get GF to do it for you when showering

yeah - why do you shave your legs?
a) in case I might fall off my bike and get an infection
b) so I can dress up in my mum's underclothes
which is more credible ?
either reach around
You, sir, are a very scarey man
Full Metal Jacket reference :o)
so what product for men for removing hair on the legs?
Veet for proper man hair, then some shower gel and your normal razor to keep them smooth. Used to use a Venus, but it's not really any better than a Fusion.
Why don't runners shave their legs?Err... many do.
Along with footballers, rugbyists, swimmers and probably most enthusiatic sportsmen.......
and probably most enthusiatic sportsmen.......
hurray, the get out clause ๐
So guys ... tell me ... do any of you shave your legs for your lady's benefit?

cheers njee! ill get on it, on holiday soon so nice smoooth legs for sun cream too ๐

Not the legs ๐ณ
I'm only asking about legs hilldodger!
Not everything needs to be shared on STW. ๐
Not the legs
I shave round my mouth very closely for her benefit :o)
Nowt wrong with a bit of designer stubble Simon!
Been tempted several times, but wear shorts to work alot in retail so would get sick of the funny looks from customers...
perhaps a tatoo saying
"don't worry i'm a cyclist" may work? On the calf...
Also though about the old bum from soloing 24's cut down on some rubbage perhaps? Afraid of stubble rash!
One one point raised by a few...how the hell do you shave your balls? Got to be a electric not cut throat ๐ฏ
Anyway i'm off to be manly for a bit and wash these thoughts out of my head ๐ณ
I wear lycra for cycling, hairy legs sticking out of lycra shorts looks gash, so I shave. simple. I could make up all sorts of shite about massage, or whatever, but it's mostly 'cos it looks better. The fact that mud cleans off easier is a bonus, cuts healing quicker? maybe, no real evidence. Do women like my shaven legs? my partner doesn't mind, her friends range from intrigued, to asking to show them how I do it so well ๐ฏ ...Couple of days ago I lent on a Golf at some traffic lights waiting for them to go green, attractive young lady wound down the passenger window, called me "Cheeky" smiled, then: "nice legs" so make of that what you will...

I make of it that it's the second time I've seen this posted, so you're probably dining out on it...! ๐
I'd be dining out on that for a while!
It's a great conversation starter certainly!
It's was a moment in my life I shall treasure, ๐
Funny all my mates that play football/basketball/rugby or that run, don't shave there legs...
Perhaps it needs to be more gnar - what about shaving leg mohicans, rings, stripes into your legs? Like the mullet you then get the best of both worlds.
I'm with the other ladies....... leave the legs hairy.
You're just not comfortable enough with yourself to do it ๐

njee what me? Done it several time when I was your age... Even went for waxing. But then I discovered that it was pointless.
