[#7953745]

Bought a fatty trail frame a few months ago, which i have only just built up and ridden for the first time at the weekend.

in the stand and with the seat collar clamped tight, the seatpost heeld the weight on the bike, but as soon as i got on the bike on saturday the saddle started to drop. Taking it out, the seat tube is much bigger than the 30.9 seatpost, to the extent that you can wiggle it back and forth, meaning that i had to buy a can of drink to shim it before i could ride bike for first time.

I had a good read of the London Road thread and the number of people that had same problem, but has anyone else had this issue with the Fatty Trail frame?

I didn't have noticeable movement but the seat post consistently slipped in the frame; if I tightened the clamp to much the reverb wouldn't move.

On one sent me a different clamp - the basic one with an Allen bolt rather than the fancy light weight quick release - problem solved.

I have tried different seat clamps, but the seatpost can physically be moved back and forth in seat tube, even with Coke can shim going all the way round the post i still need to do up the seat clamp very tight.
