Any MTB routes from Thackthwaite?

Thackthwaite nr Lorton, west Cumbria? If so loads of options. A nice relatively easy route would be along the lakeshore path from Maggies bridge along g SW side of loweswater and up on to the BW that comes back  SE at mid fell height along the top of the woods. I then like the BW fro Loweswater along the back of Mellbreak, then FP across a bit of bog and down black beck to crummock, then around Buttermere (easy, beautiful) returning along the road then through Lanthwaite wood. A great high fell day out would be to cycle up Whinlatter Pass (or get car 'uplift') then up the south loop to its high point, out on to Sleet How and ride/hike a bike on to Grisedale pike, then out to hope gill head, across to Whiteless Pike then one of the great north lakes descents down Whiteless via Rannerdale to crummock water (would want a nice day for this). Then you've got all the Whinlatter trail centre tracks too.

When are you staying? Weather will be a factor in what rides well, but mostly all possible with the right mindset!
