I'm stuck in Norwich until next year due to work commitment. I was wondering if there was a friendly group of mountain bike riders doing night ride during the week I could try joining. This will need for me to bring my (spare) bike, so a bit of hassle (coming by train from Wiltshire), but doable. And as I don't have a car, it will be nice if the rides start from the city or nearby.
Cheers.

Can't help on the mountain biking, but it could be useful to know that Norwich has more pre-reformation churches than any other city in Northern Europe.

Try the TIMBER guys, they are helping with the trails in Thetford forest.

Go into Pedal Revolution and talk to Simon and Espen. They sometimes go for early morning rides, might be up for some evening stuff too. There's a nice ride coming up on the 25th called the Norfolk Roughstuff, ask Marcus about it when you're in there.

And what do you mean, stuck? Norwich is great (better than ruddy Manchester with it's stupid football teams and noisy traffic and endless houses and nowhere to ride within an hour's drive, grumble grumble).

Start to feel better, thanks for all the info! I didn't know about Pedal Revolution, the only bike shops I saw in town were Halford and SportWorld or something like that.

John Borwells was a great shop. it's still there i believe. a lot of locals use it. (cough) and mousehold heath had some nice cheeky trails too-pretty much within the ring road!
