For a tight budget rent a chalet. If they are happy to share rooms and eat pasta then it'll be very cheap. The ski chalets are very reasonably priced in the summer. They could take a tent, there's a campsite close to town.

As above. Chalets/ apartments are dirt cheap and if they pile a few folk in it works out very cheap.

The catered chalets may work out cheaper overall as eating out could be expensive and I can't imagine a bunch of 18 year old lads cooking every night. Stuff in the supermarkets was pretty expensive too. We made up bagettes for the mountain every day and the price of cold meat in the supermarket was eye watering. Bread and stuff was cheap though. Generally though we were able to cook pretty decent evening meals for not much outlay and we ate out a couple of nights.
