36 miles twice a week, major road with a hard shoulder almost all the time. Can have one for 230 Euro brand new.

I like it. looks like a pretty good spec for the money (though you'll need a brake(s) right?) Where's it at for EUR230?

Oh, and the two brakes that can be fitted are included in the price (usually 499 Euro though).

21 lbs for a fixie seems awfully heavy; my first racer was a 531 9 speed and it was lighter...

21 lbs does seem very heavy; my 531 road bike, with 10speed Campag, is just over 21 lbs.

I will be able to upgrade it if needed at some point but... it rides well, can be yellow, if stolen will be recovered by following the trail of blood (Burgtec flats will be fitted), is still lighter than my MTBs.
I think I'll sweet-talk the boss tomorrow into ordering one (if he refuses I'll order it myself 😉 ).
