Anyone bought or used one of these for a single speed... http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=26953

do they come with a bottom bracket, sounds like they do.

Just after a cheapish option.

Yes it includes the BB. But it's not exactly cheap... Merlin do the 3-ring version for £60

But can I get away with the middle ring been ramped or do I need to buy another chain ring for £30 with a deore.

Ramped rings make no difference whatsoever on SS, obviously when its worn out buy an unramped as they might last a little longer.

Yeah, put a bash guard on the outside and you won't even see it. Someone's knocking out Race Face bashguards cheap at the moment, can't remember who tho'

Merlin have also got an LX chainset for about £55. And the Shimano BB is supposed to be much longer lasting.

Yeah, that will be good.

Tall toothed one speed rings make your drive that bit more secure. But anything other than biopace is workable.
